MUMBAI: FedEx
has taken 115,000 sq ft office space on rent at realty developer Kanakia
Spaces' commercial project Boomerang in Mumbai's Andheri suburb, said people
well-known with the development.
The courier company is preparation to move its India headquarters to this new office from its current one extend over 80,000 sq ft in Powai. The lease at Boomerang is for 10 years with monthly leasing of 80 per sq ft and a rearrange clause every three years. Rasesh Kanakia, chairman of Kanakia Spaces, confirmed the deal, but declined to provide any more details. An email query sent to FedEx also remained unanswered.
FedEx has leased the entire top floor extend over both wings of this 8-storey building. Boomerang is a 1-million-sq-ft commercial project and nearly 90% of it has already been leased or sold, including the FedEx deal.
Other input tenants in the building include Sitel, Spice Telecom and Technip India.
